Surprise! It's Sew Dolly Clackett

Blogging wonder and dress maven, Roisin Muldoon - also known as Dolly Clackett - is getting married this May.  I know I'm not alone in loving Roisin's wonderful style.  It seems every time she posts a new dress, I immediately add it to my To Sew Queue and sigh over her fabulous pattern and fabric choices.  Not to mention her amazing shoe and cardigan collection!

I had been wracking my brain over what to get for lovely Roisin to mark her special day when I had a brainwave!  We had been chatting on Twitter about Roisin designing her own dress line (Seriously, people! Why aren't you already banging her door down?!) and I mentioned I would buy every one! This jokingly turned into a #sewcialist challenge to sew a  Roisin-style dress in which she was the judge.

So, Sew Dolly Clackett was hatched, muah ha ha!

The contest will run from today, February 23, 2014, and close on April 23, 2014.  Roisin will be our illustrious judge and award our generously donated prizes.  Contestants will sew a dress (it must be a dress as Roisin is the Queen of Dresses) that emulates her style.

The Blanche Dress - Christine Haynes Emery

We're here to sew in honour of Roisin and have fun doing it and, just in case you were wondering, her favourite patterns are:  By Hand London Anna, By Hand London Elisalex, Christine Haynes Emery, Colette Patterns Hazel, Sewaholic Cambie, and Simplicity 2444.

We have some fantastic prizes available to win and I cannot thank the following people enough for their generosity:

And as a special present just for Roisin, Minerva Crafts has generously gifted her with a £50 gift voucher!
The Place St. Pierre Dress - Simplicity 2444

Please join the Sew Dolly Clackett Flickr group and post pictures of your project(s) with a link to the blog post between February 23 and April 23 to be eligible to win!

    *UPDATE*
I have been asked if contestants can enter more than one dress and the answer is YES! Absolutely, yes! You may enter as many Dolly Clackett style dresses as you can sew while the contest is open.

The Dolly Holiday Dress - Elisalex bodice and skirt from New Look 6824

Please spread the word! I know there are a lot of Dolly Clackett fans out there that would love to show their love and support to Roisin and Nic.  You can follow Roisin on Twitter here and Nic here.  Please use the hashtag #sewdollyclackett when tweeting so they can easily see what we've been up to!

Feel free to post the contest badge on your blog by copying the code below and Good Luck!

This is lovely idea! I have a question. Is it possible to have multiple entires? I just sewed up a dress but if I am only allowed one entry then I might save it for another possible dress to be sewn. Thanks!

What a lovely idea - I hope I can join along! I do have one question - I actually made a Roisin-inspired Anna dress just a few days before the contest opened (Feb 19!) - may I enter that, or do can we only submit projects completed within the given time frame? Thanks!

    Thanks for clarifying!
